Charitable Organizations Work

At Riopelle Cosmetic Surgery Laser and Surgery Center, Dr. Riopelle and Donna Riopelle believe strongly in giving back to the community. We have done multiple projects to give back to the community. Some of these include the following:

  • For years we have done pro-bono treatments for the residents of Shepherds Gate, a shelter in Livermore that houses battered women. We have seen over the years that women who come from abusive households may have low self esteem. In addition to needing housing and food for themselves and their children, they often need a boost in their self-esteem. We feel fortunate that we have been able to contribute to their well-being by providing them with these pro-bona cosmetic treatments.

  • In addition to cosmetic treatments, we have sponsored several events that have acted as fundraisers for Shepherds Gate over the years.
  • Halloween Candy Buyback sponsors candy to go to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan: In November, 2009, Riopelle Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center sponsored a Halloween buy back from local students and schools. All told we collected over 3000 lbs of candy from students, and working with Mothers of the troops, sent the candy as part of Holiday care packages to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. The remainder of the candy not used for the troops was donated to organizations that distributed it to children from poor countries around the world. We also made cash donations to local schools of over $1800 in exchange for the candy. Please watch the following two videos regarding our work including an NBC news TV clip from Nov. 2009.

  • Do a Good Deed Contest: As a productive member of our community we believe in promoting positive efforts from the youth of our community. Annually we now sponsor a good deed contest for students of high school age and under. Students write us with good deeds they have performed or are performing. We pick the good deed we feel most exemplifies the spirit of a good deed and award that student a computer or I pad. All students are sent congratulatory letters for their good deeds and an invitation to submit future good deeds the coming year.
