KYBELLA® (deoxycholic acid) is the first and only FDA-approved injectable drug that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness (aka double chin). Deoxycholic acid is a molecule that naturally occurs in the body. It aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into subcutaneous fat, KYBELLA® causes the destruction of fat cells and once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. Submental Fullness is caused by aging, genetics, or weight gain. Treatment with KYBELLA® is customized by Dr. Riopelle to the patient’s aesthetic goals for an improved chin profile. Once the aesthetic goal is achieved with KYBELLA®, re-treatment isn’t necessary. We will examine the area under and around your chin to determine if KYBELLA® is right for you before you even start the treatment and we will modify your treatment to the amount of fat under your chin and your goals.

Since everyone’s chin profile is different, the number of treatments you need will be specific to you. One of our specialists will help you determine how many sessions you need. Each treatment session is given at least 1 month apart, and you should not get more than six treatments.

KYBELLA® Benefits:

  • Nonsurgical, 15- to 20-minute in-office treatment session.
  • Customized to help you achieve your goals.
  • Destroys fat cells beneath your chin.
  • Once you reach your aesthetic goal, re-treatment is not expected.
  • 79% of patients that receive treatment express satisfaction
  • Improvement in self-perception, including feeling happier and fresher
  • Improvement in body image.
